Privacy Policy
This page explains what Calculator for Sleep collects, what it does not, and the choices you have. The short version: the calculator itself collects nothing about you.
The calculator runs in your browser
Every time you enter is calculated locally, on your own device. The times you type are never sent to a server, never stored, and never linked to you. You do not need an account, and there is nothing for us to sell because there is nothing to collect.
Email, only if you ask
If you choose to subscribe, we store the single email address you give us so we can send you occasional updates when we publish a new guide or improve the calculator. We do not sell or share it, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. If you contact us through the form below and include an email for a reply, we use it only to reply.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (our own first-party visitor count) to see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
We also offer optional Google Analytics, which loads only after you interact with the page. In regions that require consent (the EU, UK, and a few others) it loads only if you accept the banner. You can decline and lose no features. Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymization.
Advertising
This site may display advertising from Google, including through the Google AdSense program. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Where required, advertising and consent are managed through a Google-certified consent tool.
Affiliate links
Some links to products are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Following one of these links may set a cookie from the retailer (for example, Amazon) so they can attribute a purchase. We do not receive your payment details; the retailer handles the transaction under its own privacy policy.
Cookies, in plain terms
We set no cookies ourselves for the core site. Cookies may be set by Google Analytics (only with your consent where required) and by advertising and affiliate partners as described above. Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies at any time.
Children (COPPA)
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The bedtime-by-age feature is a tool for parents and caregivers and collects nothing. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can decline analytics, opt out of personalized ads, unsubscribe from email at any time, and block cookies in your browser. None of these choices reduce your access to the calculator.
European visitors (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, analytics only runs if you accept it: visitors from these regions see a consent choice before Google Analytics loads, and declining keeps every feature working. You also have the right to access, correct, or ask us to delete any personal data we hold about you, which in practice is at most an email address you gave us. California visitors (CCPA)
We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents can ask what information we hold (at most a subscription email address), and ask us to delete it, using the contact form below. We will never treat you differently for making a privacy request.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
